Fort Yargo State Park

We headed to Georgia to celebrate Ryan’s grandmother, “Nanny”, over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. It was her 85th birthday so everyone decided to gather and spend some time together. We stayed at nearby Fort Yargo State Park in Winder Georgia. It’s a very nice park with lots of walking trails, disc golf, and a lake for fishing & boating. Unfortunately, it rained most of the way down and while we were setting up, but once we got settled, we celebrated St. Patty’s Day with some corned beef and Guinness.

We headed to Nanny’s for her birthday party on Saturday. It was quite chilly, but a fun afternoon visiting the Currier family, just the same. Dolly had a great time seeing everyone and worked the room like the little socialite that she is. It had been just under 2 weeks since she’d had her dental surgery where she had all but three of her teeth extracted. She was a trouper throughout the process, but was noticeably bothered post op. It was so nice to see her smile and get back to her normal self during this trip.

On Sunday we headed to Tyler’s house in Covington. It had been 8 years since we’d seen him and his wife. We got to meet his kids, see his new house, and have some laughs. We stopped at Southern Brewing in Monroe on the way back and had a delicious, yet light IPA called Firefly. We worked from the RV Monday through Wednesday until Tom & Pam got in. They traveled from Alabama to meet us at Fort Yargo for a night. We spent some time catching up that evening and headed to Calhoun Falls together on Thursday morning.
